Location context is easy to miss
Without a regional signal, teams cannot tell whether the current visitor was classified for the configured European country set, California, or neither.
A geo signal is not a legal verdict
ConsentEase can classify a request by location, but your obligations still depend on your business, audience, and data practices. The signal is context for configuration and review.
Regional copy remains your configuration
The current banner runtime keeps your configured or translated heading, text, and buttons. Geo context adds a badge and language fallback; it does not silently rewrite those controls.
The examples show the actual current boundary: the optional jurisdiction badge can differ by resolved location. The configured or translated heading, body text, and buttons remain unchanged by geo data.

Location resolved, context exposed.
The server classifies the request as gdpr, ccpa, or none and returns country context to the embed. The runtime uses that result for the optional badge and as a language fallback.
Visitor arrives
The server derives location context from the request IP. The cached resolver result — gdpr, ccpa, or none — is returned to the banner embed.
Signal classified
The configured European country set maps to gdpr, California maps to ccpa, and other resolved locations map to none. Lookup failures use GDPR-oriented geo data.
Context reaches banner
The optional jurisdiction badge reflects gdpr or ccpa. Language selection checks the browser first and geo languages second. Configured or translated banner copy stays in control.
Consent logged separately
Consent logs store the visitor's choices, pseudonymized visitor context, banner and policy versions, and time. The banner does not currently add its resolved geo path to that record.
The current banner runtime does not use the returned geo configuration to replace headings, descriptions, button labels, legal-basis text, or consent behavior. A combined GDPR/CCPA configuration exists, but the current geo resolver does not select it. On lookup failure it uses GDPR-oriented geo data. The resolver does not separately model UK GDPR, ePrivacy, LGPD, other US states, or other national frameworks.

European requests can receive a GDPR badge, California requests a CCPA badge, and other resolved locations no jurisdiction badge. Consent logs remain separate and do not currently store the resolved geo path.

Built-in location signal
The resolver returns gdpr, ccpa, or none. The current banner uses that result for its optional jurisdiction badge and exposes it through the runtime API.
Browser-first language
The banner checks browser language first. Geo-provided language becomes the fallback when the browser does not supply one.
Configuration stays explicit
Geo data does not currently replace your heading, description, button labels, legal-basis text, or consent behavior. Review and configure those fields deliberately.
